Description

Eirlys Rhys (AIR-lees Rhees) is a 16-year-old human female, 5’1” and about 105#, with brown hair and brown eyes. When working - and since the Elven invasion she's always working - she wears close- but not form-fitting shirt and trousers of mottled colors appropriate to her environment. The trousers are tucked into high, soft boots, and she wears a soft leather harness with pouches and clips (all muffled) for her equipment. She doesn't carry much - tools, water, a rope - other than her weapons. Those are of excellent quality and clearly well-cared for - two shortswords at her waist, and a shortbow and quiver over her shoulder. Over all is a cloak of the same mottled color, and it's easy to see why she's been nicknamed "xxx".
 
 

Background and Personality

Eirlys Rhys (AIR-lees Rhees) is a 16-year-old human female originally from Llyr (City: Fairhaven?). At 5’1” and about 105#, with brown hair and brown eyes, she takes after her mother Caitlin and is very unlike her blond- or red-haired  and light-eyed father Coram and her siblings.

Coram Rhys built his trading empire in the Llyr port city of (xxx), starting as a youngster on the great sailing ships that plied the (xxx) coastline and eventually working his way to the purchase of one, then more, ships of his own. On one of his rare visits ashore, he ran into – literally – a dark-haired young woman and was immediately smitten. That he later learned she was a member of the local Thieves’ Guild and in fact had bumped into *him* to distract him from an operation undertaken by one of her colleagues mattered not at all. Coram married Caitlin not long after and five strapping sons soon resulted, all of whom showed an aptitude for, and interest in, the family trading business.

When the youngest of the five was nine years old and an apprentice on one of the ships of the fleet, Caitlin found herself pregnant again. In due course Eirlys was born, and from the beginning it was clear that it wasn’t only her looks that made her Caitlin’s child. With a quickness of mind and body to match – and perhaps surpass – her mother’s, little Eirlys took to swordsmanship and physical training. Found tinkering with the locks her mother kept around for practice, Caitlin saw that her daughter got the training and contacts she’d need, just in case.

It was well that Caitlin had such foresight.

The arrival of the Elves came as quickly as word of their invasion. Overnight, the city was transformed from a place of beauty and prosperity to one of charred terror. The great ships that were in port took as many refugees as they could – among them Caitlin and her youngest son (now 25), who organized the evacuation. Eirlys’ father and other brothers were already at sea, or in other countries.

Eirlys gave her place on the ship to a ((xxx)), bade good-bye to her mother and brother, and faded into the city to join the Guild and their forces, following Logan Ebonwoulfe (http://www.warlordccg.com/factions/freekingdoms.html ). As part of the Resistance, she uses her contacts with the Guild and the traders / merchants to get more refugees on the ships that can still slip into harbor, and is often out of the city searching for those refugees.
